Hours: Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Outstation services however, are available by appointment only.
Referrals: Parents may refer their child or children for services by calling (513) 752-1555.
Payment: Medicaid, Private Insurance, Self-Pay, Child Focus, Inc. has a sliding fee scale based upon income.
Counseling/psychotherapy: Counseling, or therapy, involves a collaborative relationship between a therapist and an individual, family, or group, with the goal of problem resolution. The approach varies according to the client needs. The intent is to help the client or family change behavior or make decisions that will improve the quality of their life. Diagnostics: CFI offers psychological evaluations to assess a variety of presenting problems. Each evaluation is individually tailored to the child and family. With the information gained, CFI offers direction for intervention, and all findings, impressions, and recommendations are presented to the family in a follow-up informing interview. This process typically takes 2-3 sessions.
Pharmacotherapy: This service provides psychiatric evaluations to children who may be in need of medication to help with their behavioral and emotional problems. It is required that families who receive pharmacotherapy services also participate in another therapeutic service. A pediatrician provides medication services to youth who are stabilized on their medication. CFI also has a licensed practical nurse (LPN) who is available 5 days a week to provide support and consultation to families.
Crisis Intervention: This service can be provided within 24 hours to children, adolescents, and their families when a child or adolescent is experiencing an unusually high level of stress and is not able to adequately cope with it. Crisis situations often include suicidal thoughts/gestures, homicidal thoughts, out of control behavior, psychotic symptoms, or trauma due to a sexual assault. Crisis resolution can often be achieved through brief, focal psychotherapy. Child Focus, Inc. also has a qualified therapist or case manager on call 24/7 to handle and assess crisis situations by telephone that may occur after hours.
