Internship Opportunities
 
All candidates must complete the following background requirements before placement may begin:
o       Orientation
o       A signed Non-conviction statement
o       Copy of State and Federal Background Check (fingerprinting)
o       Provide a copy of current physical – TB test included (Early Childhood Programs Only)
o       Provide a resume and three professional or academic references
o       Drug Test
o       School placement agreement, as required
 
Preschool Practicum - Early Childhood Programs
¨      Student must be actively enrolled in an Early Childhood AA or BA degree program
¨      Candidates are accepted based on referral from university mentor

Bachelor or Graduate Level – Out of Home Care
¨      Student must be actively enrolled in a BA/ BS or Master’s Degree program
¨      Candidates are accepted based on Supervisor availability
¨      Candidates are selected following an interview process

Counseling or Social Work – School Based Mental Health Services
¨      Student must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program
¨      Candidates are accepted based on supervisor availability
¨      Candidates are selected following an interview process
¨      Flexible schedule during school hours of 7:15am-3:45pm, August through June
¨      Individual and group supervision provided
¨      Supervisor will have regular contact with academic supervisor
¨      Activities include: individual or group prevention services, consultation, case management services
¨      No stipend provided

Counseling or Social Work – Outpatient Services
¨      Student must be actively enrolled in a Master’s Degree program
¨      Candidates are accepted based on Supervisor availability
¨      Candidates are selected following an interview process
¨      20 hour/week internship (10 hour/week practicum students accepted only if student also commits to 20 hour/week internship)
¨      Activities include: individual/family therapy, group therapy, diagnostic intake assessment
¨      Individual and group supervision provided
¨      Approximately ½ time on site spent in face-to-face contact with clients
¨      Stipend provided

Counseling or Social Work – Wasserman Youth and Adolescent Center Partial Hospitalization Program
¨      Student must be actively enrolled in a Master’s Degree program
¨      Candidates are accepted based on Supervisor availability
¨      Candidates are selected following an interview process
¨      20 hour/week internship
¨      Activities include: group therapy, individual/family therapy, diagnostic intake assessment, member of a treatment team
¨      Individual and group supervision provided
¨      Approximately15 hours/week spent in face-to-face contact with clients
¨      Stipend provided

Psychology – Outpatient Services
¨      Student must be actively enrolled in a Doctorate Degree program
¨      Candidates are accepted based on Supervisor availability
¨      Candidates are selected following an interview process
¨      20 hour/week practicum
¨      Activities include: individual/family therapy, group therapy, diagnostic intake assessment, psychological evaluation
¨      Individual and group supervision provided
¨      Approximately ½ time on site spent in face-to-face contact with clients
¨      Hourly wage
