School
Youth in need of mental health care who do not receive it are at risk for educational underachievement and failure, as well as increasingly serious psychological and social problems. Recent studies show that school-based mental health programs improve student grade point averages, while reducing school absenteeism, course failure rate and the number of discipline problems. By providing services in the schools, clinicians and educators maximize their opportunities to intervene for the better in those young lives. Our School-Based Specialist serves children and adolescents, in the school environment in Clermont County, through funds from the Clermont County Mental Health and Recovery Board, United Way of Greater Cincinnati and school districts. Our School-Based Specialists provide individual and group prevention, case management, crisis support and staff consultation.
