The Triple P seminars are designed for any parent/caregiver of children aged 3-12. Parents/caregivers of younger or older aged children are still welcome and encouraged to attend.

 

 

QPR Training

FREE Training: CLERMONT COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer. It is a program that helps save lives and reduce suicidal behaviors by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help.

Class sizes are limited. Participants must be 18 or older. 

The training will be taught by Mary Makley Wolff, director of the Coalition for a Drug-Free Clermont County.

Mental Health First Aid

FREE Training: CLERMONT COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY

With CPR training, you can help a person suffering a heart attack, but do you know how to assist someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance abuse challenge? Do you know how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis?

The Clermont County Public Library is offering free Mental Health First Aid Training to help citizens better understand how to assist someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations. You will learn the risk factors and warning signs, strategies for how to help and where to turn for assistance.

This free training is 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • For helping youth, Thursday, March 12, at the Goshen Library, 6678 Ohio 132
  • For helping youth, Wednesday, May 6, at the Union Township Library, 4450 Glen Este-Withamsville Road
  • For helping adults, Thursday, June 4, at the Miami Township Library, 5920 Buckwheat Road

Class sizes are limited. Participants must be 18 or older. Everyone will receive a manual to supplement class content. A 30-minute lunch break will be provided for the Mental Health First Aid Training. Packed lunches are encouraged.
