Child Focus, Inc. is proud to partner with West Clermont School District and HealthSource of Ohio in the newly constructed School-based Health Center which opened February 5, 2018.   These are not new partnerships.  We have had mental health staff in Clermont and Brown County HealthSource locations for six years and Child Focus has partnered with West Clermont for 29 years to provide mental health services in the district.

The Health Center will provide an opportunity for a higher level of behavioral health care and to support the link between mental health, health and academic performance.  According to research, the associations between mental and physical health are:

  1. Poor mental health is a risk factor for chronic physical conditions.
  2. People with chronic physical conditions are at risk of developing poor mental health.

Additionally, school attendance and performance is significantly impacted by poor mental health and chronic health conditions.  The Wolves Wellness School-Based Health Center clinician team will provide medical, vision and behavioral health services where and when it is most convenient to students and their parents during the school day.  Ohio’s Wolves Wellness (SBH) Center aims to help keep students in school and ready to learn. We fully expect that good and accessible healthcare for students has a direct correlation to improved student academic performance and attendance.  For more information on mental health services provided click here.
