Connections Group Helps Teen Girls with Anxiety and Depression

Girls experiencing anxiety or depression may benefit from the Connections Group. This group addresses way to decrease anxiety, depression and self-harm behaviors as well as build skills to improve self-esteem and coping skills. Parents are required to attend two parent-only group sessions and attend the final group session. The parent-only group is designed to provide support, education and skill building specifically focused around teenage depression and anxiety.

Currently, the group meets on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30pm - 5:30pm at 4633 Aicholtz Road in Eastgate. The curriculum includes:

*Parent Session #1-Introductions/Review of Curriculum

Week 1-Introductions

Week 2-Mindful Warrior

Week 3-Understanding Emotions

Week 4-Battle for Control/Brain Battles

Week 5-Mind as a Storyteller

Week 6-Wise Mind

Week 7- Values: Life and Self

*Parent Session #2-Questions and Support

Week 8 & 9-Coping Skills

Week to-Future Panning (*Parents attend)
