Free Tax Preparation at Child Focus
Child Focus, Inc. provides space for a volunteer site on Thursdays, 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Feb 1-April 12, 2018 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at the Child Focus, Inc. Training Center 4633 Aicholtz Road (Same location, new address! 551-B Cincinnati-Batavia Pike (old address) is now 4633 Aicholtz Road). Please call United Way at 513-580-7740 to make your Appointment. Free for families with incomes under $66,000.
Free Tax Prep: More than half of all taxpayers pay a professional tax preparer to file their tax return. While this is great for those with complex tax issues, it can cost $200 or more, and often involves additional fees for loans, cash advances and company cash cards. Many families can file state and federal taxes for free, online or in person with help from volunteers and the United Way.
ONLINE: File your taxes for free online with www.MyFreeTaxes.com; a secure and mobile website sponsored by United Way and powered by H&R Block, You can file on a smartphone, tablet or computer. United Way offers a MyFreeTaxes helpline (1-855-My-Tx-help) to answer questions if you get stuck. Free for families with incomes under $66,000.
IN PERSON: VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) offers free in-person tax filing support through trained and certified volunteers. Your return is filed electronically and the IRS refund is deposited directly into a bank account in about 7 to 10 days.
