Thanks to continued partnership with the Brown County Board of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Child Focus will expand its prevention and treatment supports to at-risk children, families and adults and those affected by substance use.

“The well-being of our Brown County community is built on strong families who are substance-use free,” says Dr. Laura Stith, Behavioral Health Division Officer for Child Focus.  “Our Strengthening Families program is evidence-based and focuses on building skills for parents and life skills for youth to build resilience resulting in stronger, happier families.”

Programs will target at-risk families of all ages, as well as those who have had substance use issues in Brown County. In addition, family supports will be provided to youth and adults with family members who have experienced substance use disorders.  All prevention and support efforts will be provided at the Mt. Orab office.

“Ensuring we are working with the whole family not just the individual with substance use disorder is imperative in overcoming the addiction crisis we face,” says Deanna Vietze, Executive Director of the Brown County Board of MHAS.

Groups will take place on Tuesday evenings at 5:30pm.  This program is offered at no cost to families and includes a meal and child care.  The meals will be covered by The Brown Coalition for a Drug Free Brown County and other community partners.  Click here for the flyer.
